Our Core Team are volunteers who strive to be those much needed role models for our youth by developing healthy and Christ-centered relationships, leading small groups, and supporting them in their lives. The students desire the same things we do: love and time. Come spend time with our students and help us show them that they have a home with us, Christ, and CtR.
One of the biggest responsibilities of a Core Member is that they facilitate discussion within small groups each week at Rise or Encounter. When possible they are assisted by either a Core Team Assistant or a Teen Leader who helps them guide the conversation.
Rise Core Team - 6-8th grades
6:45-9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays
Encounter Core Team - 9-12th grades
6:30-9:00 p.m. on Sundays
Sometimes jumping right into a position as a Core Member can seem a little overwhelming at first. One way to see what being a Core Member is all about is to spend your first year as a Core Team Assistant.
Core Team Assistants are similar to Core Members in all ways except that they are assigned to a small group with a Core Member who will help guide them in what it means to be a Core Member. In a way, it is like being a Core Member in training.
Rise Core Team - 6-8th grades
6:45-9:00 p.m. on Wednesdays
Encounter Core Team - 9-12th grades
6:30-9:00 p.m. on Sundays
With nearly 700 teens and families involved in CtRYM, there is always a need for volunteers to help with general office work (i.e. filing, sorting, data collection, informational phone calls, etc.)
Office Assistants schedule a day of the week (Mon-Thur) that is most convenient for them with our Office Manager, Stacie McKay.
Koinonia is an initiative for teens who are eager to go deeper in their faith. Every Koinonia group has two adult leaders who are deeply rooted in prayer and are eager to share their faith with teens who are hungry to learn more about the deep faith of our Church.
Koinonia groups do not have a specific day of the week that they are required to meet. Instead, they work together to find a date and time for their regular meetings.Christ commissioned the Apostles before he ascended to heaven to “Go make disciples of all nations”. That same command is passed onto us. By being a teen leader you are sent as the hands and feet of Jesus to bring the love of Christ to others in a real, tangible way. You have the opportunity to invest in the lives of our middle school students and journey with them as they grow in their relationship with Christ. There is not just one type of teen leader- we all have different gifts and talents God desires to use to build His Kingdom. We have teen leaders for both Encounter and RISE.
